Question by : how big should i crochet a baby blanket?
how big should i crochet a baby blanket? Im going to make my friend a baby blanket and im not sure what size i should make it. I was thinking between 32″x32″ but my friend asked if i could make it a little bigger than that so how big should i make it?

Best answer:

Answer by LMT
I generally do 45×45. First of all, it will shrink a little in the wash. Also, babies stay tiny for such a short time. If it is bigger, they can enjoy it when baby is a toddler. Finally, the extra size helps make wrapping the child more secure.

Question by : Help with knitting The chicks with sticks guide to knitting?
I’m finishing up with the envelope bag from The Chicks with Sticks Guide to Knitting. I can’t figure out how to make the loop for my button. It doesn’t really explain how to make it correctly. How do I do it?

Best answer:

Answer by Stargazer
I don’t have a copy of this particular volume, but there are a number of ways to make a loop used to capture a button. You could take 3 strands and braid them together. You could make a small i-cord using fine yarn the same, or contracting color, or you could just knit a small flap and bind off enough stitches on one row and cast them back on on the next row leaving a good ‘hole’ for your button. If you can share the directions, maybe I can help interpret them.
