Is it better to knit or crochet a bag?
How do you place markers at the beginning of knitting a felt bag on circular knitting. See below!?
Question by alotofbookstosell: How do you place markers at the beginning of knitting a felt bag on circular knitting. See below!?
I am knitting a felted bag on circular needles. After I cast on the 62 stitches the directions say, “Place a marker on one stitch at each side with 30 stitches each for both front and back.” Could someone please tell me what this means and try to explain how to go about this?
The 62 stitches are correct…and I do know what knitting markers are however I guess I don’t understand how to “Place a marker on one stitch at each side with 30 stitches each for both front and back.” Do you count 30 stitches and then put a marker or what?

Knitting a shoulder bag? Should I…?
Question by xoxo: Knitting a shoulder bag? Should I…?
So I only know the basics (cast on/cast off, knit and purl). I’ve made simple scarves and headbands before, but I really want to try knitting a shoulder bag. I decided to knit the straps seperate.
The real questions- for the bag itself should I…
1) use circular needles or straight?
2) how manyrows should I cast on? 50? How big would that be in inches?
3) how much yarn would I need? I bought new skeins- so I have about 500 yards
4) should I do knit stich or garter (knit one, purl one) for the bag?

Q&A: What fabric to use when lining a bag?
Question by Jennifer C: What fabric to use when lining a bag?
I recently felted a knitted bag and want to know what kind of fabric would be best to line it. I don’t think I want to use a cotton print because it is too thin. I want something a little more sturdy and something that can take a lot of wear and tear and heavy objects.
